A Gem of a Tour
This itinerary starts with your arrival in Negombo, where you can check into your hotel and relax. The next day, you will explore Negombo on a city tour and visit a gem pit in Rathnapura before continuing to Udawalawa. Along the way, you will also visit Kuragala. On day three, you will go on a safari in Udawalawa and then head to Ella. Day four is at leisure in Ella, allowing you to explore the area on your own. On day five, you will take a train ride from Ella to Nuwara Eliya and enjoy a city tour there. Day six will take you from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy, where you will go on a city tour. The next day, you will travel from Kandy to Colombo before departing on day eight.
Day 01Arrival / Negombo (Check in to the hotel & relax)
Arrival in Sri Lanka and check-in to your hotel in Negombo. Relax and unwind after your journey.
Day 02Negombo (city tour) / Rathnapura (visit a gem pit) / Udawalawa / Visit Kuragala and return to your hotel in Udawalawe.
Start your day with a city tour of Negombo, a vibrant coastal town with a rich history and culture. After exploring Negombo, head to Rathnapura to visit a gem pit and learn about Sri Lanka's gem industry. Then, travel to Udawalawa and visit Kuragala before returning to your hotel.
Day 03Udawalawa (safari) / Ella
Wake up early and go on a safari in Udawalawa National Park. This park is home to a large population of elephants, as well as other wildlife like leopards, water buffalo, and various species of birds. After your safari, travel to Ella.
Day 04Ella at leisure
Spend a day at leisure in Ella. This charming hill town is surrounded by stunning landscapes, including tea plantations, waterfalls, and hiking trails. You can explore the town, visit local markets, or go on a scenic hike.
Day 05Ella to Nuwara Eliya train ride / Nuwara Eliya city tour
Take the famous train ride from Ella to Nuwara Eliya, known for its picturesque scenery and breathtaking views. After arriving in Nuwara Eliya, take a city tour and visit the many attractions that this charming town has to offer.
Day 06Nuwara Eliya/ Kandy (City tour)
Travel from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy and take a city tour of Kandy, which is famous for its rich history, culture, and cuisine. You can visit the Temple of the Tooth, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as other attractions like the Royal Botanical Gardens and the Kandy Lake.
Day 07Kandy / Colombo
From Kandy, travel to Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. You can take a city tour of Colombo and explore its many attractions, including museums, art galleries, and historic landmarks.
Day 08Departure
Depart from Sri Lanka, taking with you wonderful memories of your time in this beautiful country.
